Archangel Power Tarot Cards by Radleigh Valentine
A deck review written from lived experience, intuition, and a long-standing relationship with the cards.

✨ Overview
The Archangel Power Tarot Cards by Radleigh Valentine is a 78-card tarot deck designed to blend traditional tarot structure with a gentle, uplifting, angelic aesthetic. The tone is optimistic, encouraging, and accessible — making it an ideal deck for anyone who wants clarity without harshness, and empowerment without fear.
This deck is structured like a traditional tarot:
- 22 Majors, each associated with an Archangel
- 56 Minors, with suits renamed but corresponding clearly to classical tarot symbolism
- Court Cards that present as approachable, human, and energetically distinct
It’s a deck meant to guide, soothe, and encourage — often serving as a bridge for people who feel nervous approaching tarot for the first time.
🌙 First Impressions: A Deck That Speaks Softly but Truthfully
When I first began working with this deck, it immediately struck me how gentle yet direct its messages were.
The artwork glows — literally. Many cards use radiant light, moon reflections, twilight blues and golds that create an atmosphere of hope and deep intuition.
From my journal notes:
“I’m always amazed by how much this deck understands me — especially when fear or confusion is creeping in. Its messages feel protective rather than overwhelming.”
This has become the deck I reach for when I want reassurance without sugarcoating — clarity with comfort.
🎨 Artwork & Symbolism
Visually, this deck blends:
- Fantasy realism
- Celestial light and shadow
- Archangels with distinct personalities
- Rich color palettes that match each card’s energy
Even after years of use, certain cards remain breathtaking.
The Moon – Archangel Haniel
A luminous blue landscape, cascading water, shadowed creatures watching from the edge.
A perfect depiction of intuition rising from uncertainty.
The High Priestess – Archangel Haniel
A mirrored path of light, pillars guarding wisdom, and a figure who embodies calm knowing.
A card that invites stillness — and then honesty.
Strength – Archangel Ariel
One of the most striking cards in the entire deck:
A serene angel leaning gently against a lion, sun at her back.
It conveys quiet power, emotional endurance, and heart-centered resilience.
The Star – Archangel Jophiel
Water, rebirth, night sky illumination — and the promise that hope is not naïve, but necessary.
In re-reading my notes, my personal connection to these cards is clear about one thing, how emotionally resonant this deck can be.
🔮 Structure: Suits & Court Cards
While the deck has unique naming conventions, it maintains classical tarot bones:
Suits:
- Ariel = Pentacles (material world, practicality, home, career)
- Gabriel = Wands (creativity, motivation, purpose)
- Raphael = Cups (emotions, relationships, intuition)
- Michael = Swords (clarity, truth, challenges, communication)
The suits also each have their own color, which, for me, helps me place them more easily within my understanding. Ariel is pink, which feels very homey and understanding, specific to the material world in a little bit of a dreamy way. Gabriel is brown which feels aligned with the purposeful action indicated by this suit. Raphael is green, very appropriate for both the healing and feeling attributed to cups! And Michael is blue, very well suited to the cerebral and mental focus of this suit. And while I’m at it, I should mention – the Major Arcana is purple which, since I love purple and the connection it has to both intuition and royalty, just feels right to me!
Court Cards:
Pages, Knights, Queens, and Kings remain present, but each comes with a personality-forward illustration that makes reading them intuitive and approachable.
This is especially helpful for beginners who often struggle with court cards.
💬 How It Reads: Tone, Accuracy & Personality
To me, this deck speaks in a voice that is:
- encouraging
- validating
- sometimes gently directive
- always aiming to move me toward empowerment rather than worry
This deck illuminates without amplifying fear.

🌟 Final Thoughts
The Archangel Power Tarot has been one of my most-used and most-loved decks over the years.
It communicates with a blend of gentleness and clarity that feels rare.
It invites trust — not because it is soft, but because it is steady.
If you’re seeking a deck that helps you reconnect with hope, inner wisdom, and emotional grounding, this one is a beautiful choice.
Also, if you noticed that I referenced a deck interview guide and exercises throughout this review, I am working on developing a deck interview journal that has many helpful questions, exercises, spreads, and even a game that will all help you connect better with a tarot deck. As I stated previously, I have had and loved this deck for many years, probably over a decade at this point, and I still learned so much from using the guide I’m creating. Once it’s ready, I will be listing it for sale on my website, so stay tuned if you are interested!
