Why I Don’t Overload My Website (and What I Do Instead)
There’s a moment that happens to me more often than I’d like.
I find something interesting — a pin, a post, an idea — and I click.
And then…
Before I can even see what I came for:
- a popup asks for my email
- a video starts playing somewhere I can’t find
- ads shift the page while I’m trying to read
- and I’m left wondering… where is the actual content?
Sometimes I close the tab before I even get there.
Not because I didn’t want the information —
but because it felt like too much effort to find it.
🌿 Curiosity Should Be Rewarded
That experience has shaped how I think about Oracle Grove.
Because when someone clicks something I’ve shared, I don’t want them to feel:
- interrupted
- distracted
- or overwhelmed
I want them to feel:
“Oh good… I’m in the right place.”
That’s it. That’s the goal.
🧠 A Different Kind of Approach
I’m not building Oracle Grove to be fast, loud, or optimized for clicks.
I’m building it to be:
- calm
- clear
- and easy to move through
A space where:
- you can read without fighting the page
- you can explore without pressure
- and you can leave without feeling like you missed something important
Because sometimes you don’t need more noise.
Sometimes you just need:
a place where things make sense.
✨ What I Don’t Do
This isn’t a judgment on other websites — it’s just a choice for my own.
You won’t find:
- popups the moment you arrive
- cluttered pages competing for your attention
- endless interruptions before the content begins
Not because those things don’t “work”…
But because they don’t feel right to me.
💛 What I Do Instead
I try to keep things simple.
When you click on something here, my hope is that:
- the title matches what you came for
- the content is easy to find
- and the page lets you read without resistance
If I share something I love — a tool, a pattern, a resource —
it’s there because it fits naturally into what I’m already talking about.
Not because I’m trying to convince you.
🌿 A Little More Old-School
In a lot of ways, Oracle Grove is closer to an old-school blog.
The kind where someone shares:
- something they learned
- something they’re trying
- or even just a small moment from their day
Sometimes there’s a takeaway.
Sometimes it’s just:
“If this sounds like you… you’re not the only one.”
And that’s enough.
🧙♀️ Why This Matters to Me
I’ve started thinking about something I didn’t have words for before:
cognitive space.
Not just physical clutter —
but mental clutter.
Too many things competing for attention
Too many decisions
Too much happening at once
So I’ve been quietly building things — my home, my routines, and now my website —
in a way that leaves a little more room.
Room to think.
Room to notice.
Room to just… be.
✨ If You’re Here
If you’ve found your way here, you’re always welcome.
There’s no rush.
No pressure.
No expectation that you need to read everything or do anything.
Just:
a place to explore,
a place to learn,
and a place to feel at home for a little while.
And if something here resonates with you —
whether it’s a puzzle, a pattern, or just a passing thought —
I’m glad you’re here.
