The HOME Pillow: Cute, Textured, and a Little Bit Tricky (But Worth It Once!)
This pillow is adorable when finished — especially with that faux-fur heart — but I wouldn’t categorize it as a beginner-friendly pattern.
What to know before starting:
- Pattern uses intarsia crochet (no instructions provided)
- Loose stitches during color changes are essential
- Substituting yarn means adjusting stitch counts
- It works up fast — only three evenings for me
What I loved:
- The final look is genuinely charming
- Great use for leftover chunky yarn
- The faux-fur heart is irresistibly touchable
This pattern was originally available on Creative Fabrica, but the listing has since been removed.

This was a great pattern to try once — especially if you enjoy learning new techniques. But heed my previous advice, do not use too much tension when making the color changes. You can see from the closeup below of the finished top of the pillow that I made my stitches a bit too tight, causing more space between then than there should be.
